Kasvihuonetuotannon taloudellinen kehitys

Abstract

Kotimainen kasvihuonetuotanto on kehittynyt myönteisesti viime vuosina, sillä esimerkiksi kasvihuonetuotteiden kysyntä on kasvanut ja tuotevalikoima kasvanut sekä ympärivuotinen tuotanto lisääntynyt. Kasvihuonetuotannon suhteellinen painoarvo onkin kasvanut muuhun maa- ja puutarhasektoriin nähden. Rakennekehityksen myötä pienten kasvihuoneyritysten lukumäärä on Suomessa vähentynyt, mutta suurien tuotantoyksiköiden lukumäärä on kasvussa. Toisaalta lukumääräisesti suuria kasvihuoneyrityksiä on tällä hetkellä vain muutamia kymmeniä, kun taas pienempiä on edelleen huomattavasti enemmän. Viljelyalan kasvu ja myös tuotteiden tarjonta on alkanut keskittyä suuriin kasvihuoneyksiköihin, samalla kun pienemmissä yrityskokoluokissa viljelyala ja yritysten lukumäärä pienenee. Kasvihuoneyrityksien kokonaistuotot ovat Suomen EU-jäsenyyden myötä muuttuneet tukipainotteisemmiksi. Kuitenkin tukien osuus kokonaistuotoista on vain noin 20 % ja myyntituottojen 80 %. Kustannuspuolella kasvihuonetuotannon erityis- ja yleiskustannukset sekä palkat ovat merkittävimpiä eriä. Kasvihuoneyrityksissä on syntynyt liiketulosta vuoteen 1996 saakka, jonka jälkeen liiketappion syntymistä ei ole voitu välttää. Myös yrityksien kannattavuus on heikentynyt merkittävästi vuodesta 1997 alkaen. Asetetuista taloudellisista kannattavuustavoitteista on saavutettu keskimäärin vain noin 60 %. Tällöin yrityksissä omalle pääomalle on saatu noin 3 %:n korvaus ja yrittäjäperheen työlle noin 6,5 :n tuntikorvaus. Tulevaisuudessa kasvihuonetuotannon kannattavuuden arvioidaan säilyvän likimain vuoden 2002 tasolla. Kansainvälisessä vertailussa Suomen kasvihuoneyrityksien maataloustulo ja kannattavuus jäävät alhaisiksi verrattuna Keski-Euroopan maihin. Tanskan ja Hollannin kasvihuoneyrityksille asetetut taloudelliset tavoitteet on saavutettu moninkertaisesti, Suomessa sitä vastoin tavoitteista on jouduttu pääsääntöisesti tinkimään vuosittain.

The development of greenhouse production in Finland has been quite positive in recent years. The demand for greenhouse products has increased, the product range has grown and production all year round has become increasingly common. Greenhouse production has gained more weight relative to the other agricultural and horticultural production sectors. Structural development has led to the reduction in the number of small greenhouse enterprises in Finland, while the number of large production units is growing. However, the number of large greenhouse enterprises is still only a few tens, while the number of small units is far greater. Now the growth in the cultivated area and supply of products is concentrating to the large units, whereas in the smaller ones both the cultivated area and the number of enterprises are falling. After the accession to the European Union support has become increasingly important in the total return of greenhouse enterprises in Finland. Support accounts for about 20% of the total return and the share of market return is 80%. The most significant cost items in greenhouse production are prime costs and overheads as well as wages. Greenhouse enterprises yielded business profit until 1996, but since then the losses have been unavoidable. The profitability of the enterprises has deteriorated considerably since 1997. On average, the economic objectives set for the operations have been realised only up to about 60%. The compensation for own capital invested in the enterprises has been about 3% and the compensation for the family labour has been about 6.5 /hour. In the near future the profitability of greenhouse production is expected to stay on about the same level as in 2002. The agricultural income and profitability of Finnish greenhouse enterprises is low compared to Central Europe, where the economic objectives have been reached manifold. In Finland the enterprises have in most cases fallen short of the objectives year after year.
