Tiivistelmä
The results show the some differences exist in the palatability of organic acid supplemented diets, but they are relatively small between lactic acid, formic acid, calcium formate, and sodium benzoate supplemented diets. Piglets prefer to eat sodium benzoate supplemented diets over formic acid or calcium formate supplemented diets when given those diets in free-choice. The acceptability of lactic acid, formic acid and calcium formate supplemented diets is similar for weaned piglets. The feed consumption and performance of piglets offered single diet, either no-acidified or acidified with lactic acid, formic acid, calcium formate, or sodium benzoate needs to be evaluated further.
